On Saturday, May 24, from 10 am to 5 pm, the Mendocino County Museum will present the 2nd Annual Mendocino County Mini Maker Faire at its Museum grounds in Willits. Part of a rapidly growing worldwide Maker Movement, the Faire will feature do-it-yourself (DIY) projects at interactive booths, technology demonstrations, craft workshops, solar energy demonstrations, and food booths. Participants this year include the Solar Living Institute, which will help children make solar cars and use solar ovens, and Gridbeam inventors Phil and Richard Jergenson, who won an Editor's Choice Award at the Maker Faire in San Mateo last year. There will also be a "Swaparama" to repurpose old clothes, slot car races, a 3-D printer, and even a homemade drone. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 13 to 18 years, and free for children 12 years and under. More information is at www.MendocinoMakerFaire.com.
