On Wednesday October 29th the entire school lunch for AV Schools will be made with local ingredients.

The menu is quesadillas with ground turkey, cabbage salsa and fruit, with tortillas from La Tortilla factory in Sonoma, turkey from Willy Bird in Santa Rosa, cheese from Clover in Petaluma and fruits and vegetables from local farmers.

Stone and Embers, at the Madrones (between Boonville and Philo,) will be highlighting local ingredients on Saturday, October 25. They will be open from 12-8 that day and recommend reservations at dinner time.

The new AV Foodshed Lending Library is now set up at the AV Library in the Home Arts Building at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville.  There are books on a variety of topics related to local food, sustainability and rural living skills.  If you have any books or DVDs that you would like to donate, please call Cindy at 895-2949.

The Library is open Tues 1:30-4:30 and Sat 2-4.

AV Foodshed has provided "shelf talkers" (shelf markers with the product name) to markets in AV for them to identify "100-mile food" (grown or produced within 100 miles.)
