"A unique phenomenon when Angela, Lisa and Melinda Lee combine their talents. All three sisters are dazzling musicians." – The Oakland Tribune

Since their critically acclaimed Wigmore Hall (London) debut in 2002, the Lee Trio has established themselves as a premier international ensemble. The sisters – Angela (cello), Lisa (violin), and Melinda (piano) – are graduates from Julliard, Yale and Harvard and winners of numerous individual competitions. The Trio won Second Prize at the 2004 Gaetano Zinetti Competition in Italy, the Recording Prize at the 2004 Kuhmo International Chamber Music Competition in Finland, and was awarded the 2007 Gotthard-Schierse-Stiftung grant in Berlin for promising international artists. The Lee Trio has given recitals at Carnegie Hall, the Mendelssohn Festival and Bachfest in Leipzig, Germany, Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, and noteworthy venues across North America and Europe. The Lee Trio’s passion for living composers was recognized by the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music Musical Grant Program, where they premiered Piano Trio No. 1 written by American composer Nathaniel Stookey – with each movement named for each sister.
