Art Classes in Cloverdale

Beginning in January, the Cloverdale Arts Alliance is pleased to present an 8-week after-school Art Course for children and an 8-week evening course for adults.

The instructor for these courses is Sandra Rose Novia, who has been teaching art for over 30 years. She has studied and exhibited her art in Boston, MA, Lacoste, the south of France, San Francisco, and Sonoma County, owning two art galleries along the way. In addition to the Cloverdale Arts Alliance, Sandra currently is teaching in Sonoma County in public and private schools, public libraries, Sonoma State University’s Youth Excel Program, Healdsburg Center for the Arts, and with home-schooled children.

After-school Children’s Art Course -- “Fun with Plaster”

Tuesdays 3:15-5:30pm (January 6, 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10, 17, 24)

Grades 3-7 and Grades 8-12 (limited to a total of 10 students)

Cost is $250 for the entire course, plus $15 materials fee (10% family discount applies)

In this fun-packed class, students will learn how to use the versatile medium of plaster and combine it with many different mediums and tools, such as 3-D Abstract Sculpture, Relief Sculpture, and Painted Frescos.

Evening Adult Art Course – “Drawing, Painting and Collage”

Tuesdays 6:15-8:30pm (January 13, 20, 27, February 10, 17, 24, March, 10, 17)

Limited to 10 students

Cost is $250 for the entire course, plus materials (10% family discount applies)

Wake up the inner artist or reawaken the forgotten artist in you; all levels are welcome! We will explore an assortment of mediums and tools, including Pencil, Charcoal, Ink, Collage, Gauche, and Acrylic Paint. Learn about different tools and new techniques. Come inspired, leave experienced!! Course will include Drawing, Painting, and Collage. A material list will be supplied prior to the start of the course.

These art courses are programs of the Cloverdale Arts Alliance, a non-profit arts organization bringing cultural arts to Northern Sonoma County.
