    Thanks for this, Zack.
    Isn’t Abby Martin wonderful?

  2. Zack June 13, 2016

    Yes Abby is great. So is the Abby Normal from “Young Frankenstein.”

      One of Brook’s greatest.

  3. Jeff Costello June 13, 2016

    I would vote for Jill Stein or Elizabeth Warren in a heartbeat, but a vote for HRC is assuring another Bush-like dynasty. For her, being a woman is not enough. Wait until Chelsea steps up with her investment banker husband at the ready.

    Hillary is a monster. “It takes a village.”

    “The Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA, Public Law 105-89) was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on November 19, 1997 after having been approved by the United States Congress earlier in the month.”[

    “ASFA was enacted in an attempt to correct problems that were inherent in the foster care system that deterred the adoption of children with special needs. Many of these problems had stemmed from an earlier bill, the Adoption Assistance and Child Welfare Act of 1980,[1] although they had not been anticipated when that law was passed, as states decided to interpret that law as requiring biological families be kept together no matter what.[1] The biggest change to the law was how ASFA amended Title IV-E of the Social Security Act regarding funding.”

    “Moreover, ASFA marked a fundamental change to child welfare thinking, shifting the emphasis towards children’s health and safety concerns and away from a policy of reuniting children with their birth parents without regard to prior abusiveness.[1] As such, ASFA was considered the most sweeping change to the U.S. adoption and foster care system in some two decades.[1] One of ASFA’s lead sponsors, Republican Senator John H. Chafee of Rhode Island, said, “We will not continue the current system of always putting the needs and rights of the biological parents first. … It’s time we recognize that some families simply cannot and should not be kept together.”

    Abby’s not abnormal…..she’s like everyone else in the news BIZ these days, a brand, a commercial enterprise with products to sell. RT btw is a joke. The above rehash video is a sad joke too. Except for the partisan missionaries who who use this stuff for a sugar pick me up.

    Come on out of the shadows, silent readers. Stand with Hillary!

      Mike is right:

      Abby Martin is completely wrong about Hillary Clinton.

      So were Alexander Cockburn and Christopher Hitchens.

      So are Bruce A. Dixon and Bruce Anderson;

      Mark Scaramella, Zack Anderson, and Jim Updegraff;

      P. Saineth, Ralph Nader, and Paul Craig Roberts;

      Margaret Kimberley, John Pilger, and Doug Henwood;

      Diana Johnstone, Jerome R. Corsi, and Roger Morris.

      Hillary Clinton is the second coming of the Virgin Mary.

      • Mike June 14, 2016

        No, Louis, not the Virgin Mary.

        Try the Goddess Kali. Look up “pics” of Her! :-)

        • LouisBedrock June 15, 2016

          Mike,

          Kali is pretty scary. I prefer Doctor Stein to Kali or Hillary. I guess neither of us is going to change the mind of the other.

          I tried your suggestion about controlled breathing and focusing on the present.

          t may sound strange, but it works best on the rowing machine when I must synchronize my breathing with my movements. I concentrate on a stain on the wall and find myself on that thin line between the past and the future that we call the present. Twenty minutes or so of Nirvana.

          This happens on quiet bicycle trails, but because of the potential dangers, I can’t surrender to it completely. On a rowing machine I can.

            your
            discovery of how to do that is exactly the way the buddha would lead people to develop practice from what was right in front of them and with their skills (like playing an instrument, or weaving baskets, etc)

    We face the delightful possibility of two presidential candidates being indicted before November’s elections.

    God bless America.

    • LouisBedrock June 14, 2016

      My apology, Señor Marmon.
      I read your posts about her.

      • LouisBedrock June 14, 2016

        And I forgot the distinguished Mr. Costello too.
        My apologies gentlemen.

  7. Jim Updegraff June 14, 2016

    voting is always a problem – alternative is El Trumpo the village idiot. All you can hope for is for a really good VP to step in if the madame gets indicted and/or impeached.

    • LouisBedrock June 14, 2016

      Jim,

      Why don’t you run for President?
      Please–no nonsense about your age.
      I remind you that our last “Quaker President” was Richard Nixon.
      This is your chance to show what a real Quaker could do for this country and the world.

    John Pilger on Hillary Clinton:

    In the circus known as the American presidential campaign, Donald Trump is being presented as a lunatic, a fascist. He is certainly odious; but he is also a media hate figure. That alone should arouse our skepticism.

    Trump’s views on migration are grotesque, but no more grotesque than those of David Cameron. It is not Trump who is the Great Deporter from the United States, but the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Barack Obama.

    According to one prodigious liberal commentator, Trump is “unleashing the dark forces of violence” in the United States. Unleashing them?

    This is the country where toddlers shoot their mothers and the police wage a murderous war against black Americans. This is the country that has attacked and sought to overthrow more than 50 governments, many of them democracies, and bombed from Asia to the Middle East, causing the deaths and dispossession of millions of people.

    No country can equal this systemic record of violence. Most of America’s wars (almost all of them against defenseless countries) have been launched not by Republican presidents but by liberal Democrats: Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Obama.

    In 1947, a series of National Security Council directives described the paramount aim of American foreign policy as “a world substantially made over in [America’s] own image”. The ideology was messianic Americanism. We were all Americans. Or else. Heretics would be converted, subverted, bribed, smeared or crushed.

    Donald Trump is a symptom of this, but he is also a maverick. He says the invasion of Iraq was a crime; he doesn’t want to go to war with Russia and China. The danger to the rest of us is not Trump, but Hillary Clinton. She is no maverick. She embodies the resilience and violence of a system whose vaunted “exceptionalism” is totalitarian with an occasional liberal face.

    As presidential election day draws near, Clinton will be hailed as the first female president, regardless of her crimes and lies – just as Barack Obama was lauded as the first black president and liberals swallowed his nonsense about “hope”. And the drool goes on.

    Described by the Guardian columnist Owen Jones as “funny, charming, with a coolness that eludes practically every other politician”, Obama the other day sent drones to slaughter 150 people in Somalia. He kills people usually on Tuesdays, according to the New York Times, when he is handed a list of candidates for death by drone. So cool.

    In the 2008 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton threatened to “totally obliterate” Iran with nuclear weapons. As Secretary of State under Obama, she participated in the overthrow of the democratic government of Honduras. Her contribution to the destruction of Libya in 2011 was almost gleeful. When the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, was publicly sodomized with a knife – a murder made possible by American logistics – Clinton gloated over his death: “We came, we saw, he died.”

    One of Clinton’s closest allies is Madeleine Albright, the former Secretary of State, who has attacked young women for not supporting “Hillary”. This is the same Madeleine Albright who infamously celebrated on TV the death of half a million Iraqi children as “worth it”.

    Among Clinton’s biggest backers are the Israel lobby and the arms companies that fuel the violence in the Middle East. She and her husband have received a fortune from Wall Street. And yet, she is about to be ordained the women’s candidate, to see off the evil Trump, the official demon. Her supporters include distinguished feminists: the likes of Gloria Steinem in the US and Anne Summers in Australia.
