It’s almost that time again! The Boonville Farmers’ Market will be opening on May 1 with another abundant Spring Plant Sale. On hand this year with the usual wide variety of plants will be many of your favorites: AV High School, Blue Sky Nursery, Floodgate Farms, Flowers by the Sea, Lovin’ Blooms and Petit Teton. We don’t know yet about Mendocino Maples and there might be a new grower from the coast. Check back in next week for the latest info.
In the past, there have been requests for a second Plant Sale for those who had to miss the opening. We’re giving it a try this year on May 8. The vendors from afar (Blue Sky and Flowers by the Sea) are not committing to being able to come twice, but our local growers will have lots of plants available on that day. The High School will be having their annual Mothers’ Day plant sale at the school that morning (9-12.)
The new management team for this summer is Diane Paget, Jessie Spain, Erica Kane, Bernadette Restuccia and Cassidy Geppert. In addition, Jerry Karp is coordinating the AVA reporting, Erin and Tara Lane are overseeing the Kids Korner and Cindy Wilder is scheduling the AV Artisans. You will see two of the “Team” at each Market. The earlybirds will want to make a note of the new Market opening time of 9:30.
